Kenneth Pavlinec, PT, Cert MDT – Graduated Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT in 1997. Course work included gross anatomy at Yale. Over 13 years experience in an outpatient setting and local regional trauma center and excelled as a Senior Level I therapist for acute, outpatient, and home care environments. In 2001, became one of approximately 750 Certified MDT McKenzie specialists in the world for treatment of pain of spinal origin. Extensive continuing education focused on “hands-on” therapy utilizing mobilization techniques for all joints. Extensive athletic background consisting of baseball, football, basketball, track and field, cross-country, marathon, road races and triathlons which make these personal experiences contribute to sports specific rehabilitation that is immeasurable.  Ken is looking to qualify for the NYC Marathon in 2010 and the Boston Marathon in 2011.  Member of the American Physical Therapy Association(APTA), Orthopedic Practice Section of the APTA, Private Practice Section of the APTA, and the McKenzie Institute USA. Karen J. Schechter, PT – Graduated from Daemon College in 1989 majoring in physical therapy with a minor in Biology and Psychology. Karen has over 20 years experience as a physical therapist, instructor and clinical coordinator in multiple clinical settings of outpatient orthopedics, home care, school based therapy, and pediatrics. Karen has obtained a specialization from UMDNJ for Orofacial and TMJ Disorders and has experience in rehabilitation of Bowel and Bladder Dysfunction. She has a focus of manual soft tissue techniques and myofascial release. Karen is a proud memeber of the American Physical Therapy Association(APTA), Orthopedic Section of the APTA and Pediatric Section of the APTA.
Rodney Weiss, PT, DPT – Rod has been practicing physical therapy for 10 years. He is a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia with dual Bachelor's and master's degrees in physical therapy. He went on to complete his Doctoral degree in physical therapy from Temple University in 2005. Rod has been dedicated to the ideal of lifelong learning and continuing education. He has extensive experience in general and orthopedic outpatient physical therapy, balance and fall prevention, post surgical rehab, sports rehab, motor vehicle and work related injuries. n his spare time, Rod enjoys jogging, reading, movies and spending time with his family.
Kerry L. Walsh, PT, MS – Kerry graduated from Springfield College in 1995 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She specializes in pediatric population early intervention, sensory integration and autism spectrum disorders at our Toms River location. Kerry utilizes her 16 years of experience with multiple techniques including craniosacral therapy
Joann Jackson – Joann joined our staff as a PT aide in 2005. She received a certificate for a PT aide at Ocean County College in 2004. When she is not at work, Joann enjoys baking, drawing, painting, riding ATV’s, caring for her pet pig, "Piggy Sue", and traveling with her husband. Joann Jackson
Jane Smetts - Jane joined Hands-On Physical Therapy in 2007, Practice Administrator for both offices and she is the office administrator for the 400 New Hampshire Ave. office in Lakewood. She was camp director in Farmingdale, NJ and has been actively involved in the Girl/Boy Scouts of America for 20 years. In Jane's spare time, she enjoys quilting and gardening. She was awarded a certificate of Master Gardener from the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Jane and her husband Joe have three children. Jane
Jeanette Mahieu - Office manager at the Toms River office with 5 years experience managing offices. Jeanette is currently attending Ocean County College finishing her psychology degree. Jeanette has billing experience and holds a real estate license. In her free time, Jeanette loves going to the gym and "GTL". Danielle Smetts
Danielle Smetts - Danielle has been a physical therapy aide for Hands On Physical Therapy since 2007. Danielle is currently enrolled at the Philadelphia School of Allied Health and Sciences and is about to complete her degree in Occupational Therapy and then obtain a specialization in Certified Hand Therapy.. Danielle Gough - Danielle is a physical therapy aide at our Lakewood office. She is currently attending Ocean County College finishing her degree in General Science. Danielle hopes to transfer to West Virginia University to obtain her physcial therapy degree. In her free time, Danielle competes in and coaches cheerleading. Danielle Smetts
Andrew Grando - Andrew is a physical therapy aide at our Toms River and Lakewood offices. Andrew has a degree from Moravian College with a degree in bio-psych. He was All Shore and All Conference football player at Manchester High School and captain of his college football team earning All Centenntial Conference honors. Kyle Kaye - Kyle is a physical therapy aide at our Lakewood office. He obtained a degree in bio-chem from Syracuse University. Kyle worked as a chemist and is pursuing a degree in physical therapy. In his free time, Kyle works out, and participates in jiu-jitsu and muy-thai. Danielle Smetts
