Kenneth Pavlinec, PT, Cert MDT – Graduated Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT in 1997. Course work included gross anatomy at Yale. Over 15 years experience in an outpatient setting and local regional trauma center and excelled as a Senior Level I therapist for acute, outpatient, and home care environments. In 2001, became one of approximately 750 Certified MDT McKenzie specialists in the world for treatment of pain of spinal origin. Extensive continuing education focused on “hands-on” therapy utilizing mobilization techniques for all joints. Extensive athletic background consisting of baseball, football, basketball, track and field, cross-country, marathon, road races and triathlons which make these personal experiences contribute to sports specific rehabilitation that is immeasurable.  Ken is looking to qualify for the NYC Marathon in 2010 and the Boston Marathon in 2011.  Member of the American Physical Therapy Association(APTA), Orthopedic Practice Section of the APTA, Private Practice Section of the APTA, and the McKenzie Institute USA. Karen J. Schechter, PT / TMJ Specialist – Graduated from Daemon College in 1989 majoring in physical therapy with a minor in Biology and Psychology. Karen has over 22 years experience as a physical therapist, instructor and clinical coordinator in multiple clinical settings of outpatient orthopedics, home care, school based therapy, and pediatrics. Karen has obtained a specialization from UMDNJ for Orofacial and TMJ Disorders and has experience in rehabilitation of Bowel and Bladder Dysfunction. She has a focus of manual soft tissue techniques and myofascial release. Karen is a proud memeber of the American Physical Therapy Association(APTA), Orthopedic Section of the APTA and Pediatric Section of the APTA.
Kerry L. Walsh, PT, MS – Kerry graduated from Springfield College in 1995 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She specializes in treating children with a variety of diagnoses including Torticollis, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Integration Disorders, developmental delay, and various other neurological and orthopedic conditions at our Toms River location. Kerry utilizes her 18 years of experience with a concentration in the 0-3 population. Kerry practiced in a wide variety of pediatric settings including NICU, acute care, home based Early Intervention, outpatient, and long term care rehabilitation. In addition she has worked at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Toms River, NJ and continues to serve at a co-facilitator of their Autism Support Group. She utilizes both clinical expertise and extensive course work in NDT,MFR, Craniosacral Therapy and Sensory Integration to provide her patients with comprehensive manual care. Kerry has been the guest speaker at several conferences for early childhood educators and most recently was a co-presenter for “Evaluation and Treatment of the Child with Autism” at the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association Annual Conference. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Pediatrics Section of the APTA, as well as the New Jersey Physical Therapy Association. Kerry is active in her community and has served as the assistant director of Maternal Wings Charity for Expectant Mothers since its inception in 2007. In addition she utilizes her experience as the parent of a child with Autism to assist other parents embarking on the journey.
Daniel Yousefzadeh, PT, DPT – Daniel graduated with his Doctorate and honors from Touro college. Daniel has a strong background in stoke rehabilitation from his experience working for Kessler.core. He also has experience in outpatient, pediatric, and aquatic therapy. Daniel’s athletic background includes wrestling where he achieved All conference awards and the position of Captain. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife Chani and two kids Ruby and Kaylie. Danielle Smetts
Chad M. Alazio – Chad has been with Hands on Physical Therapy since February 2011. He is certified in: * Personal Adult Fitness * Older Adult Fitness * Sports Nutrition Consulting * Weight Management Consulting. He received his education through American Aerobic Association International (AAAI) and International Sports Medicine Association (ISMA) and has been certified since 2005. Chad has an infectious passion for designing exercise and nutrition programs that maximize workout efficiency, improve fitness, increase staminaand develop an overall sense of well being. Jane Smetts – Jane joined Hands-On Physical Therapy in 2007, Practice Administrator for both offices and she is the office administrator for the 400 New Hampshire Ave. office in Lakewood. She was camp director in Farmingdale, NJ and has been actively involved in the Girl/Boy Scouts of America for 20 years. In Jane’s spare time, she enjoys quilting and gardening. She was awarded a certificate of Master Gardener from the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Jane and her husband Joe have three children. Jane
Joann Jackson – Joann joined our staff as a PT aide in 2005. She received a certificate for a PT aide at Ocean County College in 2004. When she is not at work, Joann enjoys baking, drawing, painting, riding ATV’s, caring for her pet pig, “Piggy Sue”, and traveling with her husband. Joann Jackson
Danielle Smetts – Danielle has been a physical therapy aide for Hands On Physical Therapy since 2007. Danielle is currently enrolled at the Philadelphia School of Allied Health and Sciences and is about to complete her degree in Occupational Therapy and then obtain a specialization in Certified Hand Therapy..
Andrew Grando – Andrew is a physical therapy aide at our Toms River and Lakewood offices. Andrew has a degree from Moravian College with a degree in bio-psych. He was All Shore and All Conference football player at Manchester High School and captain of his college football team earning All Centenntial Conference honors. Andrew is pursuing a degree in physical therapy. Andrew Grando
David Parisi - David has been a physical therapy aide for our Toms River and Lakewood offices since 2010. David has a B.A. in Psychology. David is an avid sports sports enthusiast and has coached soccer. David is interested in a wide variety of music from classical to rock . David is currently obtaining his degree as a physical therapy assistant.
Darlene Rosa - Darlene Rosa is a receptionist at our Toms River office. She has a passion for holistic healthcare. Darlene has two years of college accounting and has received over 15 awards and achievements with the Lacey twp. Board of Education. She enjoys being a wife and mother and always finds the time to help others. In her free time she enjoys fishing, boating, going to the gym and enjoying the Jersey Shore with friends and family. She is noted for loving Post-it notes.
Aimee Collins - Aimee is our part-time receptionist at our Toms River office since 2011. Aimee has developed an interest to natural approaches to healthcare and enjoys being a part of the Hands On PT family. She loves being a mom, traveling, relaxing at the beach, and attending live concerts.
Jennifer Crowley - Jennifer was a former patient that became a physical therapy aide in 2011 at our Lakewood facility. She is currently going to Georgian Court College working on becoming a doctor of physical therapy. Jen performs dance, ballet, and jazz.
